Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a HEAD OF ANALYSIS & INSIGHTS for the site in Glasgow, to deliver our core economic analysis and act as our intelligence unit for market trends.  

The role will lead a team of analyst and energy economists to deliver externally facing projects, conceive and oversee the creation of thought leadership publication to move on the debate and be the custodian of our analysis toolkit - some of the best and most accurate models and data in the industry.

What will I do?

  • Identify and lead analysis on key questions for offshore renewables
  • Responsibility for market, financial and economic analysis to deliver Catapult's agenda and externally funded projects
  • Work with high growth potential companies to help them understand the value and impact of new technologies and services
  • Identify opportunities for collaboration with relevant partners
  • Accountability for economic elements of the ORE Catapult business plan
  • Oversee, develop and maintain financial modelling tools for Catapult projects and concepts
  • Develop the Analysis & Insights team, manage the work load and be accountable for quality of output

What are we looking for?

  • Extensive experience in a relevant industry, consultancy, project finance or analytical environment
  • Proven track record of leading projects with analytical problem solving component
  • Experience of developing analytical tools and models
  • Experience of creating financial models from first principles for project finance and fiscal risk analysis
  • Team leadership in a technical environment
  • Able to produce externally facing evidence-based reports
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
  • Degree in Engineering or financial discipline, or equivalent experience
