Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a R&D Engineer - Power Systems Analysis at the sites in Blyth or Glasgow, to support R&D project delivery as part of ORE Catapult's wider applied research portfolio.
The role will be focused on delivering R&D projects involving power systems analysis and optimisation activity, working with other core team members and specialists.
What will I do?
- Develop and deliver R&D and advisory projects, including electrical power systems analysis and innovative solution development
- Work with leading technology developers, academics and industry end-users in the ORE sector
- Establish and maintain technical relationships with key stakeholders both nationally and internationally
- Produce high quality technical reports, publications and articles and use these in internal meetings and at world leading external events and conferences
What are we looking for?
- Knowledge of electrical transmission and distribution systems
- Knowledge of power systems modelling, analysis and optimisation
- Experience of research in industry in a relevant discipline
- Experience of using DigSilent, EPTA, DSATools or similar software
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or Scientific subject, or equivalent experience
- Someone who is comfortable working in both a well-defined and more abstract environment
