Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a TEAM LEADER - FLOATING OFFSHORE WIND for the Glasgow or Aberdeen sites, to develop technical and commercial knowledge and help to deliver innovative, commercially relevant research, projects and testing activities.  

The role will be responsible for the line management, development and growth of a team and provide support to industry, supply chain, academia and innovators. 

What will I do?

  • Inspire and motivate a team by developing strategic plans to maintain our position as experts in the field
  • Manage the resources and performance of the team through training, assessment and development
  • Provide expert guidance and leadership for floating offshore wind, both internally and externally
  • Develop innovative commercial and research projects
  • Keep up to date with latest developments on renewables and relevant technologies, standards and engineering good practice, to share knowledge with internal and external parties
  • Represent ORE Catapult at industry forums
  • Review team and consultant reporting, analysis and results

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in offshore wind
  • Good knowledge of key industry stakeholders
  • Stakeholder management, resource management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team leadership and staff development in a technical environment
  • Good understanding of HSE and applications within offshore wind
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and under time constraints
  • Some experience or understanding of coordinating activities across different technical and non-technical aspects of floating offshore wind, from development and consent to numerical modelling
